Miami, Fla. prospect Kareem Brown is becoming a hot property at defensive end

Position: DE

Weight: 265
Forty: 4.8
Hometown: Miami, Fla.

For the past two years Brown has been noted as one of the top offensive lineman in Florida. However, Brown has been moved to defensive end where he is not slated as a top prospect.

"Oklahoma's assistant coach Jackie Shipp came and watched me this past summer at our summer camp. After the practice he went and talked to my head coach and recommended that they move me to defensive end. He wasn't trying to be selfish or anything, but he really thought I would be better on defense. My coach took his advise and now I am being recruited as a defensive end. I started the last two years at offensive tackle and this year I am going both ways."

"Kentucky and Michigan State have offered me on offense, but all the other offers are on defense from Miami, LSU, North Carolina State and Florida. Coach Shipp said he needed the defensive end coach, Bobby Jack Wright, to see me on film before he could offer me. I really respected that, because he was straight-forward with me and told me the truth. I am really interested in anybody that is interested in me right now. If Oklahoma does offer me I will have an interest in them."

"I haven't been able to play in a game, because I transferred in from another school. Hopefully, this Saturday I will be cleared to play. I have a 2.55 GPA and I am taking my test score next month."
