The Cyclones last win against the Sooners came in a 33-31 win in Norman in 1990. Oklahoma routed the Cyclones last year in Norman, 49-3, in a game that featured two top 10 teams. The Sooners, who led 35-0 at halftime, held ISU quarterback Seneca Wallace to 4-of-22 passing.
Oklahoma is No. 1 in both the ESPN/USA Today and Associated Press polls. Iowa State is unranked. The Sooners are 62-6-1 when ranked No. 1.
Oklahoma Head Coach Bob Stoops is 47-9 overall in his fifth season at OU. Iowa State Head Coach Dan McCarney is 38-59 in his ninth season at Iowa State. Stoops is 2-0 vs. Iowa State while McCarney is 0-4 against Oklahoma.
