PIERRE BROWN, ATH, 6'2, 181, 4.4, DUNCANVILLE, TEXAS:
Brown has always been looked at as a great athlete. A number of schools took notice early, but for some others they took a wait-and-see attitude. Oklahoma has always been a school that evaluates its athletes fully, and after careful study the Sooners have offered Brown as a cornerback.
Brown is an option quarterback at Duncanville, but most colleges project him as a wide receiver or cornerback. Brown is a two-year starter at quarterback at Duncanville, starting in the middle of the season as a junior finishing with close to 1,000 yards total offense.
This season Brown has been under center from day one and already he has rushed for over 600 yards and has thrown for a little over 300.
"We only throw the ball around three to six times a game," said Brown. "We run the option out of the power-I and we also run the option out of a spread offense. There is no question that we are always trying to run the option."
Brown can bench 245 pounds, squats 395 and he has a 34-inch vertical jump. Brown runs the 4X100 relay and the 4X200 relay in track. Brown has been offered by seven schools at this point and he is narrowed his choices down to five.
"I like Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Kansas State, LSU and Missouri," said Brown. "All five of those schools have offered me and I am still considering them all at this time.
"Texas A&M and Missouri like me at wide receiver, while Oklahoma and LSU want me on defense. Kansas State is recruiting me as an athlete. It doesn't matter to me what side of the ball I play on. I will trust that the coaches will put me in the best spot for me."
Brown is very high on the Sooners.
"I really like them right now," said Brown. "They are a real good football program and they have a great school as well. I am going to the LSU/Florida game in Baton Rouge this weekend and I hope to get to a game in Norman as soon as possible. I have talked to the defensive coaches at OU and they are great guys and I like them a lot. I wanted to go to the Texas/OU game this weekend, but I had already set this up to go to the LSU game. I have set an official visit to Missouri (12-12) and I am working to set up the others. I want to take all five of my visits, because right now I am pretty wide open."
