Recruiting: San Diego LB talks about visit

San Diego linebacker Scott White talks about his official visit to Norman for last weekend's game against Kansas State

SCOTT WHITE, LB, SAN DIEGO MISSION BAY, CALIFORNIA:

"I loved it. They have everything that you want football wise. They have a little different lifestyle that I am not used to, but they have great facilities and a great atmosphere for football. One of my concerns about going there is the lifestyle and the heat. It is a lot different that from where I am from. However, the atmosphere surrounding their football team is exactly what I am looking for."

"The coaches are great guys and they are always working on making you a better football player and that is what I am looking for as well."

"I stand the same. I wasn't going there to make a decision. I was just going to get a feel for the place and see how I felt about it after I left.

My visit to Oklahoma didn't hurt their chances to sign me, but they didn't necessarily help them either. Like I said, I liked a lot of things about Oklahoma and didn't like a couple of things. If I had to make a decision to today, I don't think I could. This decision is going to be much tougher that I thought it would."

"I will compare my next visits to OU and they set the standard pretty high. They are going to be pretty hard to compete with. I know Oklahoma is a very special place to play football and that is why I took my first visit there. I am going to Washington this upcoming weekend and I plan on going to Notre Dame, but I may cancel my visit to Notre Dame. Those are the only visits that I have set up at this time, but I am going to take five visits."

"I watched some practice tapes today with Coach Venables and we watched a couple of scrimmages this past summer. I was impressed with how they go about their business and I feel I can help them right away."
