The Series
Oklahoma leads the all-time series by a 61-23-5 mark and are 30-8-5 against the Tigers in Norman. The Sooners, who have won 26 of the last 29 meetings against Mizzou, jumped out to a 23-7 lead over the Tigers a year ago, but needed a fake field goal touchdown pass from holder Matt McCoy to backup tight end Chris Chester with 6:33 left in the fourth quarter to regain the lead after Missouri had roared back to take a 24-23 lead. Missouri quarterback Brad Smith single-handedly kept the Tigers in the game a year ago rushing for 213 yards on 26 carries.

The Rankings
Oklahoma is No. 1 in both the ESPN/USA Today and Associated Press polls while Missouri jumped back into the AP Poll this week at No. 24 after knocking off Nebraska last weekend in Columbia. The Tigers just missed out on being ranked in the Coaches' Poll checking in at No. 26.

The Coaches
Oklahoma Head Coach Bob Stoops is 49-9 overall in his fifth season at OU. Missouri Head Coach Gary Pinkel is 14-15 in his third season at Missouri. He is 0-1 against the Sooners, while Stoops is 2-0 against the Tigers.

About Missouri
Missouri began the 2003 season by winning their first four non-conference games (Illinois, Ball State, Eastern Illinois and Middle Tennessee State) before dropping their Big 12 opener, 35-14, to Kansas in Lawrence. But the Tigers bounced back last week with a 41-24 win against No. 10 Nebraska in Columbia, and racked up 452 yards of total offense against the nation's No. 1 total defense in the process ... Sophomore QB Brad Smith was named the Big 12 offensive player of the week after contributing to 350 of the Tigers' 452 yard effort against the Cornhuskers ... Smith threw for 180 yards, rushed for 123 and caught a 47-yard touchdown pass as the Tigers used a 27-point fourth quarter to comeback from a 24-14 deficit ... The Tigers are 0-10 all-time against top-ranked opponents with two of those losses coming against OU ... Missouri's offense is ranked 54th nationally in total offense (388.17) and are 29th in scoring offense (31.67) ... Mizzou's rushing offense is 12th nationally with a 212.17 yard per game average ... The Tigers' defense ranks 49th nationally in total defense (346.0) and is 36th in scoring defense (20.17) ... MU safety David Overstreet is the son of the late David Overstreet, who was a running back at OU from 1977-80.

About Oklahoma
With last weekend's 65-13 win over Texas, Oklahoma improved to 64-6 when ranked No. 1 and are 6-0 for the 17th time in school history ... This week marks the 15th week that the Sooners have occupied the top spot in a poll since Bob Stoops arrived in 1999 ... The Sooners come into Saturday's matchup ranked No. 1 nationally in scoring offense (47.67) and 11th in total offense (470.17) ... Senior QB Jason White leads the nation in pass efficiency (180.2) and is second nationally in completion percentage (69.0) and TD passes (20). And when you compare White's stats through his first six games compared to that of last year's Heisman Trophy winner (Carson Palmer), the Tuttle native has completed nearly 10 percent more of his passes, thrown 11 more touchdown passes and three fewer interceptions ... With 52 yards passing against Missouri on Saturday, White will move ahead of former Sooner Garrick McGee into sixth on OU's all-time passing yardage list ... For the first time in school history Oklahoma has scored 50 or more points in four consecutive games, which is the highest scoring four game stretch (229) in OU history ... OU's running game has also helped White, rushing for 177.5 yards per game over that four game stretch ... Paving the way for OU's offensive attack is junior offensive tackle Jammal Brown. Brown, who was named a midseason first team all-american by CNNSI.com, has registered 55 knockdowns while only allowing one sack so far this season ... Defensively, the Sooners are 11th in scoring defense (14.67) and third in total defense (259.00) ... Oklahoma is also second in pass efficiency defense and turnover margin (+2) ... Under Stoops, the Sooners have forced at least one turnover in 52 of their 58 games since 1999 ... The Sooners have two players from the state of Missouri in defensive back Brandon Shelby and linebacker Wayne Chambers ... Saturday also marks OU's annual homecoming game. The homecoming parade is set for 3.pm. with the coronation of the homecoming king and queen coming just before kick-off. The official website for Homecoming 2003 is www.homecoming.ou.edu.
