RECRUITING: OU to get first shot at Georgia CB

East Point, Ga. cornerback Ramarcus Brown talks about his season and his interest in Oklahoma.

RAMARCUS BROWN, CB, 6-0, 165, 4.40, EAST POINT, GEORGIA (TRI-CITIES HS):

JH: How is your season going?

RB: "I am doing pretty good, but I am not getting what I thought I would get on the offensive side of the ball. On defense I play cornerback and I have two interceptions and close to thirty tackles. I also have six pass break-ups and I have not had a pass caught on me this year. I also ran a kick-off back 93 yards for a touchdown and I have over 600 yards rushing and eight touchdowns rushing. I start at tailback and also play cornerback. We are 3-3-1 on the year and we are tied for third in our district. We have to win the rest of our games to guarantee us a spot in the playoffs, but we could get there even if we lose a game."

JH: Have you taken any visits at this time?

RB: "No, my first one is November 14 to Oklahoma. I am also looking at Florida, Georgia and I am not sure about the others. All three of those schools have offered me."

JH: Georgia just offered you recently, how did you feel about that?

RB: "That made me feel OK. I kind of knew that I would get the offer and I feel pretty good about it. The fact that Georgia is somewhat close to home doesn't have a big influence on my decision. It doesn't bother me at all to go out of state. I know that all the schools I am considering have good academics and my decision will probably come on which team I can get on the field the quickest."

JH: What are you thoughts on Oklahoma?

RB: "I still like them very much. I don't think they will lose this year and I hope they play Georgia for the national championship. I don't want to say I have a leader, but Oklahoma is a serious contender for me. I have to say that I still like Oklahoma, Florida, Georgia and Auburn."
