Recruiting: OU QB commit having stellar season

Leander, Texas quarterback Paul Thompson is running and gunning so far this season

JH: I hear things are going great for you, are they?

"We are off to a 4-0 start and are playing very well. I would say that I am playing pretty well. I have rushed for 450 yards and six touchdowns and I have thrown for 720 and I believe seven touchdowns."

JH: Are you running out of the shotgun still?

PT: We are running out of the shotgun on every snap. We run some option out of it, but we have a lot of plays where it's designed that I am going to run the ball. Then we have a couple of plays where I make a read and determine myself if I will run the ball or not. We have different types of passes. We have the quick one-step-and-throw, the three-step-drop, the quick roll-out and the quick-hitters as well. I feel I have the arm to throw any pass that I need to."

JH: Have you been watching OU play and if so what do you think of the offensive production?

PT: I really like Oklahoma's offense and it looks pretty similar to what we do in high school. I think it is harder for the defense to cover an offense that I am in, because they have to guard against the run and not just the pass. I think I can bring that kind of dimension to the Oklahoma offense. When I watch OU right now I am watching as a fan and a future QB. I will watch the Texas game on television and I plan on being at the OSU game and one other one. I was going to be at the KSU game, but I had a game on the same night."
