Recruiting: MWC guard thinking about the NBA?

Top 50 basketball prospect DeAngelo Alexander is still committed to OU, but may entertain other options

DeANGELO ALEXANDER, WG, MIDWEST CITY, OK:

JH: Are practices underway for you?

DA: Our practices just got underway on October 1st. Those practices are going great, our team is deep and our scrimmages are very intense. My dad is the seventh grade coach and he has a key to the gym, so I came into camp in very good shape.

JH: I understand you went to a camp back East and tore it up, is that right?

DA: I went to Midnight Madness in South Jersey. It was an invitation only camp and players came from all around the area. It was an evaluation camp and they keep rankings on each player. was named the MVP. I scored 26 points and 10 rebounds and five assists and two or three steals. I felt pretty good about my game afterwards."

JH: I also hear that you now are not going to sign early with you, is that true?

DA: I don't know if I will sign early with OU or not. I need to talk things over with my dad, because I think he wants me to sign late. I have decided to look around a little bit more because I don't think I will be in college for four years. If I could get drafted in the first round and maybe a lottery pick I would go to the NBA this year. So, those thoughts have forced me to really look things over and make a tough decision. Oklahoma is still my leader at this point, but I am also looking at St. John's, Seton Hall and Florida. I think I will definitely sign now during the second signing period."

JH: Is OU still you leader?

"Right now I would still go to Oklahoma during the second signing period, but if I decide that I am really interested in those other schools, then I will visit them."
