Oklahoma leads the all-time series 74-16-7 and they are 35-8-2 in against the Cowboys in Norman. Oklahoma State has has won the last two meetings and five of the last eight, but have failed to win three straight against the Sooners in the series' 97-year history.

Coming off of Saturday's 38-10 win over Texas A&M, the Cowboys are at their highest ranking (14) in this week's polls since the 1997 season. The last time OSU was ranked in the top 10 was in 1988 ... After dropping the season-opener at Nebraska, OSU has posted a seven-game winning streak. The longest win streak in school history is 13 and was set during the 1944-46 season ... OSU running back Tatum Bell will come to Norman as the second-best rusher in the country behind North Texas running back Patrick Cobbs. Through eight games, Bell has rushed for 1,081 yards and averages 135.13 per game ... With his back-to-back 1,000 yard seasons, Bell has become only the third player in school history to accomplish the feat. The other two were not Barry Sanders and Thurman Thomas, but David Thompson and Terry MIller ... Bell currently ranks sixth on the OSU all-time rushing list with a career total of 3,204 ... OSU receiver Rashaun Woods ranks second in the NCAA and first in the Big 12 in receiving yards per game (114.13) ... When Bell and Woods go over the 100 mark in rushing and receiving in the same game, the Cowboys are 7-1 ... OSU QB Josh Fields became the second quarterback in school history to go over the 5,000 yard career passing mark last week with 208 yards against Texas A&M ... In two games against the Sooners Fields has completed 37 of his 65 pass attempts for 588 yards, five touchdowns and only one interception ... Bell, Woods and Fields have helped the OSU offense put up big numbers in 2003 and the Cowboys are ranked 5th nationally in scoring offense (41.5) and 18th in total offense (444.63) ... Defensively, the Pokes aren't too shabby either. OSU is 20th in the nation in scoring defense (18.3), but is 69th in total defense (379.0) ... On special teams, OSU cornerback Darrent Williams leads the Big 12 conference and is second in the nation in punt returns with his 19.25 average per return. OU's Antonio Perkins is second in punt returns ... OSU punter Cole Farden is second in the Big 12 in punting with an average of 44.13 yards per game
The Sooners enter Saturday's showdown with Oklahoma State 8-0 for the fourth consecutive season and the 15th time in school history ... With last weekend's win over Colorado the Sooners improved to 66-6-0 when ranked No. 1. The Sooners have also never lost at home when ranked No. 1 and are undefeated against the Cowboys when No. 1. OU has also never lost three straight to OSU in the Bedlam series ... Junior wide receiver Mark Clayton continued his huge season against Colorado and was named a semifinalist for the Biletnikoff Award earlier this week. Clayton has a touchdown reception in each of the last four games. The junior from Arlington has four 100-yard games this season and has recorded 93 yards in his last seven games and leads the Sooners in receptions (44), receiving yards (785), yards per catch (17.8) and touchdowns (8) ... Senior running back Renaldo Works is also having a breakout season. Works, who had only one 100-yard game in his previous three seasons, has done it twice in the last three games with 112 yards against Texas and 130 yards last week against Colorado ... If Saturday's game comes down to the kicking game the Sooners are in good hands (or feet) with sophomore kicker Trey DiCarlo. DiCarlo has made 16 of his 17 field goal attempts (11 straight) this season and is 7-for-7 from 40 yards and out ... OU quarterback Jason White continued his run at the Heisman Trophy last week against Colorado with 248 passing yards and three touchdowns. White, who has thrown for 2,288 yards in OU's first eight games, ranks second nationally passing efficiency, third in yards per attempt, third in touchdown passes fourth in points responsible for, sixth in completion percentage and 17th in total offense ... Offensively, the Sooners are 2nd in the nation in scoring (44.25) and 14th in total offense (459.88) ... On defense Oklahoma ranks 9th nationally in scoring defense (15.1) and are 5th in total defense (255.88)
