The last time A&M beat OU in Norman was in 1997, 51-7, when the Sooners were still under John Blake ... Offensively, A&M comes into Saturday's game ranked 31st nationally in total offense (423.0) and 44th in scoring offense (29.67) ... The Aggies' offense is one of only seven other schools nationally to average over 200 yards rushing (208.4) and passing (214.6) per game ... Redshirt freshman running back Courtney Lewis, who has rushed for 868 yards on 144 carries, ranks fourth in the Big 12 and 30th nationally with his 96.4 per game average ... Lewis also leads all freshmen nationally in touchdowns and is second in rushing yards and fourth in yards per game among freshmen. His 171-yard effort against Oklahoma State was the fourth best freshmen rushing outing in school history ... Aggie quarterback Reggie McNeal, who came off the bench to throw four touchdown passes in A&M's 30-26 upset of Oklahoma last year in College Station, is a dual-threat QB who has passed for 1507 yards and rushed for 495 this season. McNeal has thrown nine touchdown passes and six interceptions ... Defensively, Texas A&M is having a down season from the days of the old wrecking crew defense's. The Aggies rank 81st nationally in total defense (399.78) and are 96th nationally in scoring defense 33.0) ... On special teams, the Aggies have a threat in junior kick-returner Terrance Murphy. Murphy leads the nation in kick-off returns with a 32.1 yard per return average. Murphy also ranks second nationally in yards per touch (21.2), and is fifth all-time on the A&M career chart in receptions (100) and receiving yardage (1,476) ... Texas A&M punter Jacob Young averages 37.4 yards per punt and sophomore place kicker Todd Pegram is second in the Big 12 in field goals made (13-of-18) behind OU's Trey DiCarlo.
On Saturday, Oklahoma (9-0) will be going for their 10th win for the fourth consecutive season and could become the 11th Sooner team to start the season 10-0 ... OU's last three double-digit win seasons have been under Stoops, who could stretch that to four in a row with a win over A&M ... Barry Switzer needed five years to notch four 10-win seasons ... OU improved to 67-6 last weekend when ranked No. 1 ... OU is occupying the top spot for the 18th week since Stoops arrived in Norman ... The Sooners will also enter Saturday's game with an 11 game winning streak ... Offensively, with their 52-9 win over Oklahoma State last weekend the Sooners moved into the top spot nationally in scoring offense with a 45.1 per game average. Texas Tech is second at 43 points per game ... OU's is averaging 47.6 points per game in Big 12 play and is beating their conference opponents by an average of 35.2 points per game ... Oklahoma ranks 15th nationally in total offense (458.33) ... Senior QB Jason White ranks second nationally in pass efficiency (168.33) and seventh in total offense ... White also has at least one completion of 45 yards or more in each game this season and 13 completions over 40 yards, which is the most ever by an OU quarterback ... White, who is 12-1 as a starter, is No. 5 on OU's career passing list with 3,334 passing yards ... Junior receiver Mark Clayton is one of the nation's hottest receivers and has recorded a touchdown catch in each of the last five games. Clayton also ranks 13th nationally among receivers with a 97.89 yards per game receiving average ... And don't forget about the Sooners' running game. Over the last seven games the Sooners have averaged 180.5 yards per game and 4.4 yards per carry. The Sooners have also rushed for 100 yards in eight of their nine games this season ... Defensively, the Sooners continued their dominance last week against Oklahoma State and rank No. 1 nationally in total defense (245.33) and 7th in scoring defense (14.4) ... The key for the Sooner defense this season has been their pass rush. Last year's team recorded only 37 sacks through 14 games while this year's squad has already compiled 35 sacks in nine games . Last year's team averaged 7.9 QB hurries per game while this year's version averages 12.6 ... Junior defensive end Dan Cody, who was named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week after registering three sacks against Oklahoma State, leads the Sooners with eight sacks.
