RECRUITING: Houston FB on OU's radar

Houston, Texas fullback Brandon Jackson talks recruiting and about his interest in Oklahoma.

Jackson is one of the most impressive football players in the Houston area. Called a ‘baller' by many college coaches, Jackson is one of those guys that is mean, tough and skilled all into one.

Jackson is an excellent blocker at the prep level, but he is also an outstanding running back. Jackson rushed for 821 yards on just 96 carries at 8.0 yards per carry and ten touchdowns for the No. 1 offense in the Houston area.

"We had a very balanced offense and had stars all over our offense," said Jackson. "We had another running back in our backfield that rushed for over 700 yards and our quarterback (Joseph Fields) is a talented player as well. Joseph just came back from a visit to Syracuse."

Jackson is a three-year starter at running back and he will run track this year. Jackson can bench 295 pounds and squats 435, but he hasn't maxed in a while. More and more schools are calling Jackson at this time and he has already set visits with Arizona (12-5) and Wisconsin (12-19).

"I hope to take those visits, but that will depend on whether we are in the playoffs are not," said Jackson. "Right now it looks like we are going to be in the playoffs, so I may have to chance those dates. I am also talking to Arkansas, who just called me tonight. I am also talking Tulsa and Oklahoma who also call me. I really like Oklahoma, but I am not sure where I stand with them right now. Arizona and Wisconsin are recruiting me harder than any other schools right now."
