BRYAN PICKRYL, DE, JENKS, OKLAHOMA:
JH: Are you finally healthy?
BP: I have been kind of down with some sickness lately, but I have been running real well lately. So I am back in action and feel pretty good. I played two weeks ago and I had a good game against Broken Arrow. I had eight tackles-for-loss, four sacks, a caused fumble, a fumble recovery and I caused one interception.
JH: Did you watch the OU-Texas game?
BP: I watched the OU/Texas game on the tube and then I went to the OSU/Missouri game on an unofficial visit. I thought the OU-Texas game was great, especially with the low score and great defensive play. It was a great game to watch.
JH: Do you watch the game as a fan or as a player?
BP: I watch the game as a future defensive end or linebacker. I definitely have a different perspective watching games. I can't really be a fan, instead I am watching what is happening to certain plays and why that is happening to them. I can't get caught up in all the things that the fans are going through.
JH: Did the game influence your decision about the two schools at all?
BP: No, I don't think so. I think both teams showed great aspects of the game. OU's defense scored one touchdown, but they didn't have to go a long ways to score. OU took advantage of the Texas mental mistakes. Usually the team that wins makes the fewest mental mistakes. It's stuff that can be corrected very easily. That one game is not going to influence my decision at all.
JH: What is going on in recruiting?
BP: I am getting ready to go on an official visit to Missouri this weekend. Next weekend I am going to Texas. I am pretty busy right now as I am trying to look up information on what I want to go into academically. I definitely think I am going into the engineering field. I still haven't had a whole bunch of free time to study academics of all the schools, but it is beginning to take shape. I have talked to Michigan about setting up a visit. I like their school a lot, what they have to offer. I am trying to keep my final two schools open. I may not take an official visit to OU, but I have been down their quite a bit and I have a pretty good feel about their program. OU will be definitely be among my final choices. I am not as interested in OSU. They don't have the same caliber of football program as some of the other schools I am looking at.
