RECRUITING: Sooners offer Tulsa athlete

Prentice Elliot - one of Tulsa's hottest recruits - talks about his college future and interest in OU.

JH: Talk about your season-ending loss in the playoffs to Tulsa Washington.

PE: "We lost in the first round of the playoffs, but it was our first playoff appearance since 1991. Nobody expected us to be there and we played great all year to qualify for the playoffs. I had my lowest rushing output of the year. I finished with 93 rushing yards on the day and two kickoff returns for 65 yards."

JH: What were your season totals?

PE: "For the year I rushed for 2,506 and 32 touchdowns. I also caught three passes on the year and I returned kickoffs and punts. I averaged 34.2 yards per kickoff return and for punts I averaged 22.1 yards per punt return."

JH: What is next for you?

PE: "I am going to play basketball, and they are trying to get me to run track and I might run track."

JH: What is going on in recruiting with you?

PE: "I have been getting a lot of phone calls, but I am far from deciding where I want to go to school. I have set up one visit with OSU (12-5) and I am talking to several other schools. Oklahoma has offered me recently and I will set up a visit with them later on. OSU is recruiting me as a wide receiver and OU is recruiting me to play in the secondary. really don't care on which side of the ball I am on, but I would like to get the ball in my hands sometimes."

JH: Do you have a favorite right now in recruiting?

PE: "No, sir I don't. I grew up a Florida State fan, and if I got the chance I would like to visit there. I have not started narrowing down my decision at this time. I am talking to Mississippi, Alabama and Colorado."

JH: Have you taken your test yet?

PE: "I take it this weekend."
