Oklahoma Head Coach Bob Stoops is 54-9 overall in his fifth season at OU. Texas Tech Head Coach Mike Leach is 30-20 in his fourth season in Lubbock. Leach is 0-3 head to head vs. Stoops. Stoops is 3-1 against Tech. Leach was OU's offensive coordinator under Stoops in 1999.

Under Leach, the Tech offense has set 125 offensive records, and two more could be added to that list on Saturday ... With just 83 passing yards on Saturday Tech quarterback B.J. Symons will break the NCAA single-season passing yards mark currently held by former BYU quarterback Ty Detmer (5,188). And with just two yards of total offense, Symons can break former Houston QB David Klingler's single-season total offense mark of 5,221 yards ... Symons also leads the nation in total offense (474.5), passing yardage (5,106), touchdown passes (47), points responsible for (29.09), pass completions (398) and pass attempts (613) ... Symon's 47 touchdown passes is also a new Big 12 record, which was previously held by former Tech QB Kliff Kingsbury (45) ... Symons has a strong group of receivers to throw the ball to led senior Carlos Francis. Francis is averaging 16.1 yards per catch and leads the team with 1,060 receiving yards ... Overall, five Red Raiders have over 500 yards receiving. Another standout receiver for Tech is Oklahoma City native Wes Welker. Welker has caught 82 passes for 946 yards this season and ranks fourth nationally in receptions per game (7.45). The former Heritage Hall High School star is also the NCAA record holder for all-purpose yards, career punt return yardage and punt returns for touchdowns. Coming into Saturday's game, Welker has 5,521 career all-purpose yards ... Not to be forgotten in Texas Tech's offensive attack is running back Taurean Henderson. Henderson, who rushed for three touchdowns last week against Texas, has 639 yards rushing this year to go with his 65 receptions ... Tech is currently No. 1 in the nation in total offense (605.09) and second nationally in scoring offense (44.45) behind Oklahoma ... The Red Raiders' defense is 110th in total defense (463.0) and 100th in scoring defense (33.8) ... Tech is 5-0 this season at home and with a win could wrap up their 13th undefeated home season in school history.
The Sooners are ranked No. 1 for the 13th consecutive week, which is the third-longest streak to begin a season behind Florida State (1999) and Nebraska (1983) ... The Sooners have also dominated the Lone Star State recently under Stoops. Oklahoma has won 17 of their last 18 meetings against schools from Texas ... OU is currently on a 13 game winning streak and have led their opponent for 776 minutes and 13 seconds of the actual 780 minutes in their 13 games. The only time OU trailed this season was during a 3:44 stretch against UCLA ... OU quarterback Jason White continued his spectacular season last week against Baylor and continues to lead the nation in pass efficiency (174.45) ... White, who has at least one completion of 45 yards in all but one game this season, has 16 completions of 40 yards or more this season, which is the most ever by an OU quarterback ... White is currently 3rd on OU's career passing list with 3,914 yards ... White is third on OU's all-time single season career passing yards list at 3,052 and owns the record for touchdown passes in a season with 36 ... Only three other quarterbacks nationally have 30 or more touchdown passes this season and of those three White has the fewest interceptions (6) ... White is 14-1 in his 15 career starts ... Junior receiver Mark Clayton is also re-writing the OU record books. Clayton, who leads the Big 12 in receiving yards per game (105.4) and touchdown receptions (14), holds OU records for career receiving yards (2,099), single season receiving yards (1,159), receiving yards in a game (190), most career 100-yard games (9) and most touchdowns in a career (22) and season (14). Clayton also has 63 receptions this season, which is only three behind Trent Smith's record of 66 set in 2001 ... The Sooner D has not allowed a touchdown in 12 quarters and are only giving up 2.4 yards per play in their last three games ... The Sooners rank 3rd nationally in scoring defense (12.1) and are No. 1 in total defense (222.27) ... The Oklahoma defense has also set a single season record for sacks with 45. The previous mark of 41 was set in 1997.
