ROLAND MARTIN, OL, 6-6, 345, 5.2, CHICAGO, ILLINOIS (HARPER HS):
JH: How good was your season?
RM: "We finished our season 10-2 and got knocked out in the semi-finals. We didn't play well in that game and I am trying to forget it."
JH: Were you happy with your individual play?
RM: "Yeah, but the only thing I can be disappointed with is how far we went. We didn't get the championship and that was our goal. I tried to work hard and stay consistent, and I think for the most part I did. I am pretty happy with my individual season. I handled the guy across from me all season and at times blocked two guys."
JH: Now that football is over what are you into?
RM: "I am going through off-season and working out. I am playing in the Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio and I want to be ready. I am looking forward to that game to test my skills against the very best in the country. The competition is going to be great and I look forward to playing in that game."
JH: How was your last visit?
RM: "I went to Michigan State and it was a pretty good visit. It was surprising to me, because I didn't think they would have a good looking campus and good restaurants to go to. That wasn't necessarily what I was looking for, but it still caught me off guard. The campus was really nice and there are a lot of things to do there. I thought they had a good season and their facilities are real high tech. That is the first campus for me to visit, so their facilities looked great to me. They have great players and coaches and Michigan State has a very good program."
JH: What is next on your visit schedule?
RM: "I am still going to Tennessee and Oklahoma in January, but I am not sure of the dates."
JH: Do you have a favorite at this time?
RM: "No, I am not going to say I have a favorite. I haven't sat down and narrowed things down. I am just going to go out and see everybody's school and see what every school is all about. Then bring my information back and sit down and make a decision."
JH: What are your thoughts on Oklahoma?
RM: "I can't say anything bad about Oklahoma at all. The offensive line coach is pretty good (Kevin Wilson) and I enjoy talking to him. My recruiting coach (Jackie Shipp) is cool and he is a great guy to talk to. OU wins game and there is no question that they have a great program. It is just a matter of me going out to see it. I am looking forward to seeing their facilities, talking to their players and coaches and just talking a long look at what they are all about."
