JASON WATKINS, OL, 6-7, 287, 5.0, LAKELAND, FLORIDA (LAKE GIBSON SENIOR HS):
JH: How are things going with you?
JW: "I just got back home from Oklahoma."
JH: What did you think of your visit to OU?
JW: "It was great. I had a great time. My player host was Davin (Joseph) and that was great. It was the first time I have ever seen snow and that was great. You never see snow in Florida, so it was fun to see it and see what it felt like. They had a Heisman watch party for Jason and that was so much fun. They let us take part in that and that was something that I will never forget."
JH: What did you feel about Heisman watch party?
JW: "It was huge and to see how many came out and supported him back home while he was out in New York. There were so many people that were supporting Jason that you can tell OU loves their football. The fact he came back from two ACL injuries shows you what kind of players they have at Oklahoma."
JH: "What did you think of the OU football program?
JW: "I play offensive tackle and I saw that OU doesn't really have a lot of offensive tackles. They are playing a backup center at second team offensive tackle and then they showed me one of the backup tackles and I am already bigger than him. They have a great program right now and I have a chance to come in and make it better. They also had Adrian Peterson visiting and he is the best running back in the country. They had Rhett Bomar visiting and he has already committed. And then big Herman visited and he stepped on the scales at 395 pounds, but he doesn't look that big."
JH: What did you think about how OU puts on a recruiting weekend?
JW: "It was a great, because you don't know a lot about a school until you visit them. It's huge that the No. 1 team in the country is recruiting me and they have a spot open for me to come in and help right away means a lot to me."
JH: How is recruiting shaping up with you at the moment?
JW: "OU is my leader at the moment with the Florida Gators still a top contender. I will visit Florida the first weekend in January and then I will visit LSU. I have also visited Auburn and Michigan State already."
JH: What did you think about the Sooner coaching staff?
JW: "The coaching staff is great. Coach Wilson is funny and really coaches hard. We were able to watch practice for two days and practice was intense the entire time. They do a great job."
