MANUEL WRIGHT, DT, 6-6, 290, LONG BEACH POLY, CALIFORNIA:
"We are 6-1 with our only loss to De Le Salle recently. I don't know what my stats are, but I do know that I am leading the team in tackles. I play defensive tackle every play and I am triple-teamed on almost every play or teams try to trap block me. It's something new every call. Especially that De La Salle game, it was doubles and triples the whole game.'
"The coaches have thought about moving me around the defensive line. However, so far we haven't done it and I don't think that we will."
"Every big-time college football program has called me since the summer. I am still taking phone calls from everybody. I get 25 to 30 calls every week, but I am having fun with it. It is really exciting to hear from Coach (Larry) Coker from Miami, Coach Pete Carrol from USC and the coach at Washington."
"I am pretty open right now, but I am looking at Miami, Florida State, USC, Washington, Florida and Oklahoma. I have talked to Coach (Bob) Stoops a couple of times and he seems like a great guy. I haven't set any visits at this time and I am going to wait until the season is over."
"Right now I am looking for a school where I can come in and play. I also want a place where I can live the next four years and be happy with. I live in the city now, so I am used to the big city atmosphere."
