Recruiting: Football and Basketball updates

Sooners hosting top prospects this weekend in both football and basketball

The Sooners only have two athletes visiting this weekend, but they are key to the Sooners recruiting class.

Zach Latimer of Aurora Gateway, Colorado and Michael Williams (6'4, 225, 4.6) of Lindale, Texas are both at the top of the Sooners defensive end board. Throw in Larry Dibbles and Brian Pickryl and you have the three DE's the Sooners would love to have.

Williams' visit may be unofficial, but he is bringing his family this weekend and he has given indications that he might commit to the Sooners this weekend.

Wide receiver Travis Wilson of Carrollton Creekview Texas is also coming to Norman this weekend. It's unofficial, but he is bringing his parents and if they like Norman, Wilson is expected to commit to the Sooners following the visit.

On the basketball front, the Sooner coaches are still confident that they are going to sign Midwest City star DeAngelo Alexander during the early signing period. Alexander calls the OU coaches all the time and tells them he will work on his dad and that he will sign with OU early. Mr. Alexander wants his son to look around a little bit more, but DeAngelo really wants to sign with OU.

Also, one of the state's top high school basketball recruits, Kevin Bookout of Stroud, is expected in Norman unofficially this weekend and will attend Friday night's Baseline Bash at the OU Fieldhouse. Bookout still plans on visiting Arkansas, but plans on signing early with either OU, OSU or Arkansas.
