THOMAS HERRING, DE, 6-6, 290, 5.05 LOS ANGELES, CALFORNIA (JOHN C. FREEMONT HS):
JH: Are you getting ready for the California/Florida All-Star game?
TH: "I am leaving Sunday and I am really looking forward to it. I have been training for it a little bit. I think I am going to play defensive end in the game, and I am looking forward to that."
JH: What do you hope to accomplish in the game?
TH: "I hope to go out there and have fun and play against some of the other top players in California and Florida. I want to show off my talents against some of the other top players and see how I stack up."
JH: What did you think of your visit to OU?
TH: "It was great. I had a great time. I really enjoyed myself and I liked the coaches a lot and really enjoyed the players. I had a super time. I truly enjoyed myself."
JH: What did you come away with from the visit that you didn't know before?
TH: "All the impressions I had were pretty much the same. I found out that there were things to do in Norman, despite the fact most of the kids are on Christmas vacation. I am definitely impressed with how they go about their business at practice and how they play. They are a very professional looking team at practice. The facilities are first-rate and they have a real good program."
JH: Now that you have visited OU, where do the Sooners stack up on your recruiting list?
TH: "OU has always been one of my top five schools, and actually one of my top three. They are still that high on my list. Miami and USC are in my other two and all three are very close and equal. I am looking forward to taking my Miami trip and see how they compare with OU and USC."
JH: Many feel you are a lock to USC, yet the last time we talked to you they weren't even mentioned by you. Where do the Trojans really stand with you, and can you really sign with anybody else besides USC?
TH: "That is what everybody seems to think. I always say that it is a possibility that I might be a Trojan, but I have ever said that I am a lock for USC or that I am definitely going to go there. I could sign with anybody at this point."
