Recruiting: Jenks star enjoys trip, nearly commit

Jenks star talks about his unofficial visit to Norman last weekend

JASON CARTER, CB, JENKS, OKLAHOMA:

"I liked the game and I like Oklahoma a lot. I thought about committing to them and I am still thinking about committing to them. I have talked to OU about it and I don't think they mind if I take a couple of visits. I want to visit Nebraska, Alabama and Tulsa. I have a couple of visits at Tulsa. I believe that me and Lawrence Pinson (11-9) are going to Nebraska and then I think we will visit OU (12-9)."

"It wasn't anything about the game, it was more about how the players and coaches treated me. I realize that I might have a chance to go in there and play as a freshman, because I can play both cornerback and safety. I still want to go both ways as a defensive back and wide receiver. I am going to try to work that out with OU, but I think they just want me to go at DB. However, they have told me before that I can give both positions a try."

"OU uses a lot of DBs and they play a lot of zones. They also blitz their safety's a lot and I think that is a strength of my game. They way they play zone I think is great and something that I can fit right in with."

"I think I am playing better than I did at the beginning of the year. I still am bothered by a high ankle sprain, but defensively I am playing very well. The next couple of weeks I think they will use me a little more on offense. We are playing rushing teams so they can get me in more on offense. Right now I have 23 tackles, five sacks and four interceptions and two caused fumbles. On offense, I have nine receptions for 91 yards and I have scored six touchdowns.
