RECRUITING: Walker 90 percent sure of decision

Waco CB Marcus Walker talks about his favorites, the Sugar Bowl and today's Army All-Star game.

SAN ANTONIO—Waco, Texas cornerback Marcus Walker talks about his commitment status, Oklahoma and Adrian Peterson during an exclusive interview on the eve of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl Game. In previous interviews, you've made it well known that your final decision will come down to Oklahoma and Florida State? Is that still the case?

Walker: "Yes." Is Oklahoma your leader?

Walker: "They've always been one of my top schools from Day One. Everybody else has always been trying to catch up to them." How close are you to making your commitment?

Walker: "Very close. In fact, I'm 85 to 90 percent sure of it (my commitment). I just need to go home, talk to my family and make sure everything is straight (with my commitment)." Does that mean you will make your decision before Signing Day?

Walker: "Most definitely. I'm tired of this (recruiting). I'm just ready to get it over with." Is there any chance you might announce your commitment at halftime of tomorrow's U.S. Army All-American Bowl Game?

Walker: "Nope, not at all." What impresses you most about Oklahoma?

Walker: "Everything. At Oklahoma, you know you're going to be surrounded by players who work hard and coaches that are going to work you hard. Because of that, Oklahoma's players have a chance to win a national championship every year." Do you have any official visits left?

Walker: "I'm supposed to go to LSU on Jan. 16, but I really don't plan on making it there. There's a real slim chance that I might be there." What's your prediction for the Sugar Bowl?

Walker: "OU's gonna win for sure. I think they'll win something like 35-17." What single factor will have the biggest impact on your decision?

Walker: "I just want to be around some great players. I want to be pushed as a player so I can get better and hopefully win some national championships." What are your expectations for the tomorrow's U.S. Army All-American Bowl Game?

Walker: "I just want to compete. I'm not here trying to outdo anybody, except myself. I'm going to do the best I can and whatever happens, happens." Any thoughts on your friend Adrian Peterson and his potential commitment to Oklahoma tomorrow?

Walker: "That's my dog. We talk on the phone a lot. I don't know where he's going. That's his decision. I'm sure he'll make the one that's best for him."
