RECRUITING: Holmes still proud to be a Sooner

Dallas WR/DB Lendy Holmes talks about meeting other future Sooners at the Army All-American game.

SAN ANTONIO—Dallas, Texas wide receiver/defensive back Lendy Holmes talks about Adrian Peterson's commitment, his own decision to attend Oklahoma and the Sugar Bowl during an exclusive interview after today's U.S. Army All-American Bowl Game. What are your thoughts on Adrian Peterson's commitment to Oklahoma today?

Holmes: "I knew he had to go to OU. Nobody runs the ball like OU. There are schools that run the ball all the time, but to be consistent in passing and running, you got to think OU. I'm happy all the Texas people are coming together and going to OU." What was it like spending a week with your future Sooner teammates here in San Antonio?

Holmes: "It's been really good getting to know everybody. I knew they'd be super players, but once I talked to them, I realized they're just like me." How do you feel about your commitment to Oklahoma?

Holmes: "I've made a really good decision by going to OU. I feel that I can do something up there on both sides of the ball, if they'll let me. Signing Day is going to be an emotional day for me. I know my parents will be proud of me, because I'm going to college." What position do you anticipate playing in college?

Holmes: "They (OU's coaches) want me to play primary receiver and secondary. If they want me to do a little special teams, I'll do that too." What has impressed you most about Oklahoma this season?

Holmes: "Jason White winning the Heisman (Trophy) and deciding to come back. That means a lot to me and says a lot about OU. I hope I don't redshirt, so I can catch some passes from him, but I'll do whatever they (OU's coaches) need me to do." Who is going to win the Sugar Bowl?

Holmes: "OU's gonna win, no doubt about it. LSU is a good team, but they're going to lose. OU is going to make up that Kansas State loss up, but I'm not sure about the score. (Laughing)…how bad did we beat Texas this year? I think we'll win 65-0."
