Recruiting: Wilson makes it official

Carrollton, Texas receiver makes a commitment

On if he committed to OU today
"I called Oklahoma this afternoon at around 3:30 p.m. to tell them that I had committed. They were real happy with the news and so was I. The coaches were great with me and told me that they felt my commitment would help them in the recruiting process and help them get other players."

On why he chose the Sooners
"First of all it is close to home, it is a winning program and their tradition is second to none. The offense is perfect for me and is one of the best in college football. The coaching staff is great and seems to be a players type of staff and the atmosphere around Norman. All of those things combined makes Oklahoma a great place for me."

"This is my mom's first time to go through the recruiting process. She was going through all the coaches that she had talked to and all the information that she had been able to gather. She just wanted me to make sure that I was making the right decision. At first she wanted me to take five visits and she understood that if I committed early that the other coaches would quit calling. However, she knows that OU is really where I want to play college football and she wants the best for me."

On where he will play in college
"They have talked to me about playing wide receiver. They want me to play the 'X' position, because that is where I played in high school. Basically, I just need to get on the field and it doesn't really matter where I play."

On his stats so far this season
"I have 21 catches, for 690 yards and nine touchdowns. On defense, I have three interceptions."
