Recruiting: North Carolina athlete has OU in top

North Carolina athlete JeJuan Rankins wants to find out more about Oklahoma

JEJUAN RANKINS, DB, WINDSOR BERTIE, NORTH CAROLINA:

JH: How is your season going?
JR: Overall we are 7-1 and we are 4-0 in conference play. I am playing pretty well as I am playing quarterback and I am 32 of 60 for 586 yards and 10 touchdowns. I am also playing safety and I have two interceptions at this point. I don't know how many tackles that I have.

JH: Are you being recruited more for offense or defense?
JR: I am actually being recruited more as a wide receiver than anything else. Some teams do say that they want to put me on the defensive side of the ball to see how I work out there. To be honest, I don't care if I play defense or not.

JH: What is going on in recruiting?
JR: I have narrowed my top four down to Notre Dame, Michigan, Oklahoma and Georgia. I haven't really ruled out anybody else, because I may see some things later on that I like about some school. I really don't have a favorite at this time.

JH: Can you get into more details about your interest in Oklahoma?
JR: Oklahoma is a great team with a great program, but I don't know what else I can say, because I haven't been out there to really take a close look at them. They have a great tradition and they are winning a lot of football games. I know more about Michigan (12-7), because I went to camp there and I have been on their campus. I haven't been to Notre Dame or Georgia either.
