As things go down to the wire OU appears to be very much in the running for all three of the offensive line prospects left on their board.
Chicago OL Roland Martin had a good visit and those close to him feel that he likes OU better than Michigan State. Of course, the distance factor may come into play here, and if it does then he will go to Michigan State. His mom has decided to not to go Tennessee with him and that bolds well for OU. He indicated today that the drive wasn't that bad.
Youngstown, Ohio OL Brandon Braxton did not go to LSU this weekend and it looks like he is not going to make up the visit. Since he use to live in Georgia, I think this is coming down to OU and Georgia. Bo Pelini will not go on the road and recruit for OU, but he will make phone calls, and this is one athlete that he can help with because he knows him and has talked to him before. I think Bo can help knock Nebraska out of the Braxon race as well.
Then you have big Denton, Texas OL Herman Johnson, who visited LSU this weekend and is heading straight to the University of Houston to visit there on Monday. OU had a great visit with Herman at school on Thursday and there is no question that Herman likes OU a lot. The mom factor at LSU does mean something and we won't know for a few days how much Herman liked his trip to LSU. But there is no question that OU is very much in the hunt.
Oklahoma will find out about Waco, Texas cornerback Marcus Walker on Wednesday when they visit him at his school, and all signs still point to OU.
The Sooners will also find out about Phoenix tight end Zach Miller on Wednesday And again, OU has a great shot to get him and may be the slight leader heading into Monday.
Bob Stoops is flying out to California to see Thomas Herring on Monday. While Herring continues to say that OU is in this, all signs are pointing to him committing to USC. His mom is ill and it just doesn't look good for anybody outside of USC.
Then Coach Stoops, Kevin Sumlin and Chuck Long will fly to Arizona to meet with Zach Miller Monday night. OU has a great chance to knock that out and get the verbal from Miller on Wednesday. And on Tuesday Coach Stoops will back home to visit with Brandon Braxton.
So, this will be a key week as Walker and Miller make their decisions and the Sooners may go into the week leading for both.
