RECRUITING: Braxton says OU is the perfect fit

Youngstown, Ohio OL Brandon Braxton talks about his verbal commitment to Oklahoma on Monday. Braxton chose OU over LSU and Georgia.

Brandon Braxton, OT, 6-7, 300, Youngstown, Ohio (Ursuline High School):

JH: Why did you chose Oklahoma?

BB: "I just decided that was the best place for me. I like the stability of the coaches. I also like the players and staff and I fit in down there. It just felt like the right place."

JH: In talking to you earlier in the week it seemed that you knew that you wanted to commit to OU?

BB: "Right. I knew this past weekend or at least on Monday that I was going to OU."

JH: How do you feel about the fact OU is thin at offensive tackle?

BB: "It is great. I like that fact."

JH: Is it going to be tough to leave home?

BB: "Sort of, but I am looking forward to it."

JH: When will you arrive in Norman?

BB: "Sometime this summer. But that is something that my family and I still want to talk through."

JH: What do you weigh right now?

BB: "Right now I am 6-6, 305 pounds."

JH: You picked OU over whom?

BB: "It was OU over LSU and Georgia."

JH: I know that you are at dinner right now, so what is for dinner for a big guy like you?

BB: "I am going to get some chicken strips at Red Lobster."

JH: Man, how come you are not getting lobster?

BB: "I am better off eating chicken strips, believe me."
