RECRUITING: The latest on Okam

Dallas, Texas defensive tackle Franklin Okam talks about his trip to OSU and his in-home visit with Mack Brown Thursday night.

Franklin Okam, DT, 6-4, 300, 5.0, Dallas, Texas(Lake Highlands High School):

JH: How did your visit go to OSU?

FO: "It went fine. I was really impressed with the coaching staff and players. Les Miles is a great a coach. I learned a lot about their academics, and I can see why OSU is becoming a better team in the Big 12."

JH: How did your in-home visit go with Mack Brown and Stanford last night?

FO: "It was great. Coach Brown is a really impressive guy. It's hard not to like him."

JH: Did the in-home visit help you get any closer to committing?

FO: "No sir."

JH: How is recruiting shaping up for you at this point?

FO: "There's really no difference. I'm going to Stanford this weekend. I'm going to go there with an open mind, then my mom and I are going to come back and evaluate it and come up with a decision by singing day."

JH: So are you saying you're still wide open at this point?

FO: "Well, we have a better feel for it than we did when the recruiting process started. But yes, I'm still wide open."

JH: And you're not leaning to any particular school at this time?

FO: "No sir. I'm not leaning anywhere."
