Recruiting: Purcell OL loves pancakes

Purcell offensive lineman and OU commit Steve Taylor is dominating defenders so far this season

JH: How is your season going so far?
ST: We are doing OK. We are 4-5 and in district we are 3-3. I play offensive guard, defensive tackle and defensive end. The fourth game of the season I was moved to offensive guard from tackle, because I am the quickest lineman we have to pull and get out on the corner. I like playing guard, because it is fun to pull and get out on the corner. I don't know where I will play at OU, but in talking to my head coach he feels that there is a good possibility that I will play guard. I usually grade out in the mid or high 80's. I don't know what my exact number of pancake blocks are, but I know that I have racked up quite a few of them. In my last game, I had seven pancake blocks, five on a trap and two on a linebacker.

JH: Since you are committed to OU, have you been following their season so far this year?
ST: Yes I am. I think they are doing well this year. I know they have struggled in a couple of spots in their offensive line, because they are so thin there. Other than that OU is playing pretty well. I will go and compete as hard as I can my freshman year, but I wouldn't mind redshirting. That would allow me to getting stronger and really learn what they want me to do. However, I will be ready to help as a freshman if they need me. I think that would be a great experience for me. If they want me to do it then I will look forward to it. It's totally up to the coaching staff.
