Sooners, Cowboys set for round two of Bedlam

Oklahoma will be looking for payback on Big Monday after Ivan McFarlin (pictured left) and Oklahoma State stuffed the Sooners, 77-56, on Jan. 14 in Stilwater. Tip-off for tonight's showdown between the Sooners and the 10th-ranked Cowboys is set for 8:05 p.m. at the Lloyd Noble Center.

#10 Oklahoma State (19-2, 9-1) vs. Oklahoma (16-5, 6-4)

The Cowboys come into tonight's showdown riding a nine-game winning streak and in sole possession of first place in the Big 12, while the Sooners have won six of their last seven games. OSU also comes into the game as one of the nation's best road teams with a 5-1 mark in true road games this season. The Sooners are 11-1 at home and this season have won 48 of their last 50 games at the Lloyd Noble Center. The game will be nationally televised on ESPN with announcers Ron Franklin and Jon Sunvold calling the action.

Oklahoma holds a commanding 118-85 lead (72-25 in Norman) over Oklahoma State in the all-time series, but are only 9-12 against against the Pokes under Kelvin Sampson and 4-6 in the last 10 games. The Cowboys won the first meeting between the two schools this season on Jan. 14 in Stillwater, 77-56. Freshmen point guard Drew Lavender led the Sooners with 15 points, but it was OSU point guard John Lucas who stole the show. Lucas hit two of his three 3-point attempts, grabbed five boards, dished four assists, recorded two steals and scored a game-high 22 points.

Under head coach Kelvin Sampson, the Sooners have been to nine straight NCAA tournaments and have the NCAAs third-best winning percentage over the last four seasons with a 127-31 (.804) record. Sampson is 230-86 in his 10th season in Norman and is 406-234 overall. OSU's Eddie Sutton has compiled a 313-126 record in 14 years in Stillwater and is 743-290 in his 34th year as a division one head coach.
