Recruiting: Top Minnesota tight end will visit OU

Minnesota tight end Marcus Freeman talks about his interest in Oklahoma

JH: How is your season going?

MF: We have made it to the quarterfinals of state. We are 11-0 and ranked No. 2 in the state. We play Alexderia in the quarters. My season is going pretty well. I have 17 catches for 250 yards and three touchdowns. I feel I am blocking real well at the line of scrimmage. Last week I didn't get one ball thrown to me, but we ran a lot of sweeps and stretch plays to my side and they turned out to be outstanding plays for us.

JH: Have you set any visits at this time?

MF: I have three visits set up. I am going to Oklahoma (11-25), Notre Dame (12-8) and Minnesota (12-15). Hopefully UCLA is going to offer me and I can visit there. However, right now these are the three schools that are showing me the most interest. I have had other schools offer me, but I am not interested in most of them. I don't have a favorite at this time. I will try to make up my mind in early January, but I will probably take a visit in early January.

JH: Have you earned any post season honors?

MF: I am going to play in the East vs West All-Star game in San Antonio, Texas on January 5th. I am very excited about that.

JH: What do you think about Oklahoma?

MF: I really like Oklahoma's program and their football team. I have all positive thoughts about Oklahoma right now. I still like Notre Dame despite the fact their coach is under scruitny. I still like what Notre Dame has to offer. Minnesota is a good school and it is home. I like Oklahoma's offense the best. They pass the ball a lot and their tight end catches the ball a lot.
