Malik Hairston, G, 6-6, DETROIT, MICHIGAN (RENAISSANCE HS):
JH: How are your state playoffs going?
MH: "We have won our first two games of the state playoffs. We have five more games to go to win the state title. We play our next game tomorrow night at 8:00 PM against Dexter High School. I haven't seen them play, but they made it this far so I am sure they are a pretty good team. I have played well in the first two games. I have averaged 22 points, 11 rebounds, six assists and three blocked shots in those games."
JH: Are you still planning on visiting Oklahoma after your state playoffs are over?
MH: "There is a chance that I will visit Oklahoma. It is not a guarantee, but there is a chance. The only way I will not go is if I make a decision where I want to go before the time comes to visit Oklahoma. Right now I don't know where I want to go and there is a good chance that I will visit Oklahoma."
JH: Do you know where you want to go to school right now?
MH: "As of right now I don't know."
JH: There are many reports on the world wide web that indicate that you really know where you want to go, but that you are just not saying. What do you think of those reports?
MH: "I am sure they are going to formulate their own opinions and that is understandable. I don't know right now and when I do know I will tell everybody. I don't see any reason to hold anything back, since I have been pretty open about things throughout the recruiting process up to this point."
JH: What schools do you still have an interest in at this time?
MH: "I haven't ruled out any of the schools since the last time we talked. I am still looking at UCLA, Oklahoma, Kansas, Ohio State and Michigan."
JH: What are your thoughts on Oklahoma at this time?
MH: "Nothing has really changed on my opinion on Oklahoma. I think they only way my opinion on Oklahoma will change is if I visit there, because then I could formulate some different opinions based on the new information that I get. Right now I have had only a couple of conversations with Coach Sampson since we last talked and there really isn't anything new with those conversations."
JH: Could you take a visit to OU while you played in the McDonalds' All-American High School All-Star Game?
MH: "I don't know how I could do that. The McDonalds people have us on a certain schedule that I have to follow and I am real busy with the game and all the related activities."
