THE MATCHUP
Sixth-seeded Stanford advanced to Monday's second round with a 68-44 win over Missouri, while the second-seeded Sooners knocked off Marist, 58-45, in first round action on Saturday. The winner of Monday night's game will advance to the Midwest Regionals beginning next Sunday in Norman and play the Vanderbilt-Tennessee Chatanooga winner in the Sweet 16 ... The Sooners and Cardinal are tied 2-2 in the all-time series. Oklahoma knocked off the Cardinal twice during the 2000-01 season — once in Norman on Dec. 27 and the second time in Norman in an NCAA second round tournament matchup. But the Cardinal, who are making their 17th straight NCAA Tournament appearance, won the last meeting between the two teams 58-38 at Maples Pavilion in Palo Alto last season ... Stanford is led by senior forward Nicole Powell, who was named the Pac 10 Conference Women's Player of the Year for the second time in her career this season.
