BRIAN JACKSON, CB, 6'1, 210, 4.48, DESOTO, TEXAS:
Brian Jackson is another one of those big corners that the college coaches are looking for. Blessed with very good size and speed, he is very close to 6'2, Jackson can really run and can cut on a dime.
Jackson goes into this season a two-year starter as he comes off his junior season of 30 tackles, four interceptions and three pass breakups.
"I really like playing cornerback. It is just something that comes natural for me," said Jackson. "I am not really the safety type as I like to lock up on receivers in man coverage, and feel I can help my team win games the best that way. I don't get beat in coverage very often."
Jackson can bench 300 pounds, squats 510 and he runs the 200M (21.9) and he also participates in the triple jump (45'3) and high jump (6'2). Jackson did not go to any college camps last year, but he plans to attend the Nike camp in College Station and camps at Florida, Oklahoma State and Oklahoma.
Jackson has been offered by Oklahoma State and Baylor, and right now is just putting together his recruiting list.
"I would say that I really like Oklahoma State and Oklahoma," said Jackson. "I think you have to include LSU and all three Florida (Florida, Florida State and Miami) schools. I like Oklahoma and I have a great interest in them, but I am afraid they might try to make me change positions because of my size. That is something that I need to talk to them about."
Jackson isn't sure whether he can go to any spring games or not. He missed the Texas spring game so that he could take his ACT.
