Independance Junior College strong safety Allan Patrick (6'3, 210, 4.3) has committed to the Sooners.
Patrick, a native of Conway, S.C., becomes the first player to commit to OU. He is a May graduate in 2005 and will have three years to play two.
"I committed to Oklahoma because they were the best school out there. Nobody plays better football than Oklahoma and nobody plays defense better than Oklahoma.
"I've been an Oklahoma football fan for a long time. They have a great tradition at safety or just in the defensive backfield. I'd like to be a part of that tradition."
Patrick's uncle lives just 20 minutes outside of Norman, and thus his decision turns out to to an easy one as he has always been a strong lean to OU.
The Sooners have a great chance to sign three players out of Conway as All-American wide receiver Eric Huggins is a soft commitment and OU will send coaches to look at Hivera Green in the next couple of weeks.
