RECRUITING: Tulsa RB getting major interest

Booker T. RB Felix Jones already has an offer from one Big 12 school, but says more on are the way.

Felix Jones is a speed merchant who caught the attention of college coaches two years ago when he rushed for 890 yards as a sophomore. Unfortunately. Jones didn't play a year ago because he broke his ankle the second game of the season.

"The ankle is not totally all the way back, but it is close at 85 percent or so," said Jones. "I am trying to run track to get my speed back and I am working hard in the weight room."

Jones can also play strong safety and was a starter on defense as a sophomore.

Jones can bench 265 pounds, squat 550 and he has a 39-inch vertical jump. Last season Jones went to the Nike camp at Texas A&M and this year he hopes to go the Oklahoma State, Oklahoma and Kansas State football camps.

"I hope to go at least one day to each of them and I will see if I can get more work in at each camp," said Jones. "I am still trying to figure everything out as far as the summer goes, but I think those three are the main camps I am going to concentrate on."

Jones has a great interest in a number of schools.

"I am talking to Florida, Oklahoma, Oklahoma, Kansas State, Texas A&M, UCLA and Tennessee," said Jones. "Texas A&M has offered me a scholarship and I think the others will offer me eventually. Every one of those schools are talking to me and they all indicate that I will get offers in the future."

Jones runs the 200M (22.5), long jump (23'6) and he is the anchor on the 4X100 relay team.
