The OU men's basketball team will bring in 6-foot-7 forward Nate Carter of UC-Riverside this weekend.
Carter, who began his visit in Norman on Thurdsay, is transferring from UC Riverside and the Sooners are the frontrunner for his services. I am not sure who else is in the running for him, but he called OU immediately when he decided to transfer and the Sooners have been the main, if not the only school, he has been talking to.
Carter is considered and excellent shooter and he had outstanding success during his first two seasons at UC-Riverside. Carter was named the Big West Freshman of the Year when he averaged 16.8 points per game, and last year he was named second team All-Big West when he averaged 15.7 points.
Carter can shoot the three and is considered a face-up post guy that can move out to the wing. He would be outstanding in the Sooner offense or at the top of the key or out on the wing.
If he signs with the Sooners he will sit out next year and have two years of eligibility remaining.
