Cochell, Sooners will play UCLA in first round

Larry Cochell's Oklahoma baseball team is back in the NCAA Tournament.

Oklahoma, who finished 37-22 overall and second in Big 12 regular season play, will be the second seed and host a double-elimination regional Friday-Sunday at the Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City.

The Sooners will take on third-seeded UCLA (33-27) at 7 p.m. in first round action on Friday night. Florida (40-20) is the top-seed and will play Central Connecticut State (41-15-1) in the region's other first round game at 3 p.m. on Friday.

The winner of this weekend's regional in Oklahoma City will play the winner of the Miami regional in a best-of-three series for the right to go to the College World Series in Omaha, Neb.

FRIDAY Game 1: 3 p.m. - Florida vs. Central Conn. St.
Game 2: 7 p.m. - Oklahoma vs. UCLA

Game 3: 9 a.m. — Game 1 loser vs. Game 2 loser
Game 4: Noon — Game 1 winner vs. Game 2 winner
Game 5: 3 p.m. — Game 3 winner vs. Game 4 loser

Game 6: 4 p.m. — Game 4 winner vs. Game 5 winner
Game 7: 7 p.m. — If necessary
