RECRUITING: Lofton checks out OU's summer camp

Kingfisher, Okla. linebacker Curtis Lofton talks about his trip to Norman on Tuesday and his favorites heading into the summer.

Curtis Lofton, LB, 6-2, 225, 4.65, Kingfisher, Oklahoma:

JH: You were at the Oklahoma camp today, so how did that go?

CL: "It went pretty good. I enjoyed everything. We did some hitting and stuff and went through inside drills. I was pretty anxious to put on the pads again and start hitting and to see some of the other guys they are recruiting. I really didn't know any of the guys that I was going up against, but there were some pretty good guys there."

JH: Are you going back to the camp on Wednesday?

CL: "I don't really know if I am going to go to any more camps or not. As the summer goes on if I have some time I might, but I really don't know at this time."

JH: Who was with you at the camp?

CL: "My Uncle Delbert, Uncle Bill and Aunt Shayalla and great Uncle Tim. They liked the visit very well and enjoyed it a lot."

JH: Did you look around the campus some more?

CL: "I have already seen everything so I just went to the practice. It gave me a chance to work out with Coach Venables and stuff. He is a great coach and it was great to work with him."

JH: What are your current thoughts on OU?

CL: "They are a great team and a great program. They have really nice facilities and a great coaching staff. OU is still very high on my list."

JH: How is recruiting stacking up with you?

CL: "I am just getting a feel for everybody and talking to everybody to see what is out there before I make my decision."

JH: Are you still looking to stay in-state?

CL: "I guess you could say that I am a lean to say in-state, but if something came up out of state that I really liked I would take it."

JH: Are Oklahoma and Oklahoma State still your top two teams?

CL: "Yes, you can say that. They are still neck-and-neck."
