RECRUITING: Harris narrows list to three

Mesquite, Texas linebacker Aaron Harris says he has no leader

JH: How did your season finish out?

AH: We finished 7-4 on the year. Our season just ended last weekend. I finished with 132 tackles, three interceptions, three caused fumbles and four fumble recoveries. I played like I always have, I really had my way on the field.

JH: What is going on in recruiting?

AH: I am planning on taking my first visit to Texas A&M on December 7. Then the following weekend I am going to Texas. I am talking to Oklahoma about visiting there this weekend, but I haven't decided yet if I am going to do that. I know that I am going to visit Oklahoma, but I am just not sure on the date at this time. These are the only three schools I am going to visit.

JH: Do you have a leader at this time?

AH: No, sir I am waiting to take my visits and I want to keep an open mind. I don't know where everybody got that I was leaning to Texas. I talk to Coach (Brent) Venables and he said he read that to. That isn't true. Sure I like Texas, but I am not a lean to Texas.

JH: What will look for in your recruiting visits?

AH: I want to make sure I can get along with the players that are already there. I want to make sure that academically they have what I need. I am sure all the schools do, because I want to study education and be a college football coach. However, I want to see how their academic program is set up. I pretty much know about the football programs, but I will really try to find out more on their defensive schemes and what linebackers they have on the team.
