RECRUITING: Top LB more interested after visit

Virginia Beach linebacker Kai Parham talks about his unofficial visit to Norman over Thanksgiving break

JH: How did your visit to OU go last weekend?

KP: It was an unofficial visit. My uncle invited us down there for Thanksgiving and he played there. OU had a lot of good things going on and I enjoyed it. I really didn't have a great deal of interest in OU before the visit, but my interest has certainly gone up since I was there.

I enjoyed the area, the climate and the atmosphere surrounding their program. They have nice people, nice players and I really enjoyed the coaches. They have a great football program and certainly one of the better programs in the country.

JH: Do you think you could play early at Oklahoma?

KP: I think I can step in right away and have an opportunity to produce. I base that on the linebackers that they are losing and they don't seem to have anybody immediately available to play. That would be a nice situation to be in, and obviously I want to play. So that would be a good deal.

JH: Who else do you plan on visiting?
KP: I took official visits to Florida and Florida State. The only other visits I have set up are to Virginia and Tennessee. It's possible that I could visit OU officially. I don't know if I have a favorite and I am just seeing how things fall into place.

JH: Talk about your visits to Florida and Florida State.

KP: I enjoyed both of them. The school atmosphere is different. Florida is more like a city, while Florida State is more like a college town, or in the country. I like the city a little more, because it is more like home.
