The hard work of Sooner wide receiver commitment Eric Huggins of Conway (S.C.) High School this summer is already beginning to pay its dividends.
The 6-foot-4, 190-pounder was recently nominated to be captain of Conway's football team for the 2004 season.
The nomination was made by Conway's strength coach Jody Jennerette based on the progress of Huggins' ongoing summer workouts.
"You can tell he went to a lot of spring junior days," said Conway receivers coach Tyler Palisin. "He's starting to emulate a lot of college receivers. He's learned a lot and is displaying good leadership."
QUICK SLANT: Eric Huggins
