RECRUITING: Jersey DT knows OU's depth chart

Little Silver, N.J. defensive tackle Kade Weston update.

Kade Weston, DT, 6-5, 300, 5.0 LITTLE SILVER, NEW JERSEY (RED BANK HS):

JH: How is your summer going?

KW: "I am going to summer school and that is taking up a lot of my time. I am going to summer school to raise my GPA. I am also working out a lot. I am lifting weights and running and just trying to become a better athlete."

JH: How are your workouts going?

KW: "I am just grinding along, but I am improving. I am at 490 on the squat and I benched 185 pounds 20 times."

JH: Have you gone to any camps this summer?

KW: "I went to the Georgia camp last week. It was a great camp for me. I did well at the camp and in the one-on-one drills, and in the weight room I did well. Georgia is a nice place with nice people. It is a nice college town. I will consider Georgia as one of the schools that I am interested in."

JH: What is going on in recruiting?

KW: "I haven't cut down my schools yet, but I have to do it soon. I am still considering everybody and I have not closed the door on anybody yet."

JH: I guess that means you are still considering Oklahoma, but how seriously are you considering the Sooners?

KW: "I am looking at Oklahoma and what they have at defensive tackle. I don't want to say that I want to come in and play as a freshman, but I want to play soon in my career. At Georgia, they haven't really signed a defensive tackle in two years. Oklahoma will graduate two defensive linemen next year and then they have another one who will be a senior next year. The coaches at OU have told me that I would have a great chance to come in early and play, and that is what I am looking for."

JH: How will you come to your decision as to what schools you are going to seriously consider or visit?

KW: "I am going to sit down with my uncle and coach and then decide what schools are best for me to visit."
