RECRUITING: Super Juco LB will decide soon

San Francisco junior college linebacker Lance Mitchell will decide this month, but where do the Sooners stand?

LANCE MITCHELL, MLB, 6'3, 241, 4.5, CITY COLLEGE OF SAN FRANCISCO, CA:

JH: How are you guys doing in the playoffs?

LM: We had a game yesterday and we won 19-7 against Fresno City. However, we really dominated the game. Their only score came on a blocked punt and they only had 66 total yards on offense. We had 440 yards total. So we were never in danger of losing the game. Now we face Palamar City College this weekend for the championship.

JH: How many more visits will you take?

LM: I am not sure. It depends on how it goes and depends if Coach Russ (coach at S.F) sets it up or not. We won't be back until late Saturday night. I still plan on visiting Texas and Florida.

JH: A school like Texas already has several commitments from top high school linebackers, do other commitments influence your decision?

LM: No, it doesn't matter to me at all. I am not going to worry about them. I figure they will have to worry about me. I am going to be there this spring and they won't be there until two-a-days in the summer.

JH: Where do you stand with the schools that are recruiting you right now?

LM: I am still waiting to take my trips and then do the process of limitation from there. I still feel pretty good about Oklahoma.

JH: What schools have traveled to San Francisco to see you play?

LM: Coach Hundley from Florida. Coach (Brent) Venables came out a month ago. He is suppose to be back out there this week.

JH: Any timetable on a decision?

LM: I will make my decision on the 19th (of December).
