Notre Dame Athletic Director Kevin White can cross Bob Stoops' name off of his list of potential candidates to replace Bob Davie.
The Oklahoma head coach denied any interest in the position during a teleconference with the Oklahoma media Tuesday.
"Like I have said all along I believe that Oklahoma is one of the truly special places to play and coach in all of college football," said Stoops, who was on the road recruiting in Texas.
"I am not interested in being a candidate for anybody else's coaching job. I guess
it is a good thing that people recognize you as being a candidate, but I can't help that. I have no intention with speaking or dealing with anybody else."
The latest reports out of South Bend indicate that Stanford Head Coach Tyrone Willingham will interview with Notre Dame officials this week.
