RECRUITING: Sooners lead for Texas corner?

Lufkin, Texas CB Alton Dixon discusses his summer visits and names a leader among his five favorites.

Alton Dixon, CB, 6-0, 183, 4.48, LUFKIN, TEXAS:

JH: How has your summer gone?

AD: "I have been taking a little break this summer to be honest. I had surgery on the rotator cuff on my right arm and I have been trying to work that back into shape. I am already back to my already strength, but I am disappointed in the progress of my speed this summer. My coach said that I would regain my speed the first week in camp as I get into better shape."

JH: Because of your shoulder were your able to go to any camps this summer?

AD: "The last camp I went to was the Oklahoma, and I was the top-rated defensive back there. There were some good receivers there, but I did real well and I was happy with my performance. The coaches at Oklahoma reminded me of my coaches in high school in that they love what they do. Their defense is similar to what we do in high school in that they mix their coverage very well."

JH: How is recruiting going?

AD: "I have 11 offers at this time. I have an offer from Washington State, Arizona, Oklahoma, LSU, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, Florida, Purdue, Kansas State and Arkansas."

JH: Do you have a favorite or a top five?

AD: "Right now my favorite is Oklahoma. My top five is Oklahoma, Arizona, LSU, Florida and Texas A&M. The coaches at Oklahoma are the best in the country. They are always up front and honest in what they say. They have a nice campus, but they don't have that many people. I feel very comfortable at Oklahoma."

JH: Will you sign early or take all five visits?

AD: "I plan on taking all five of my visits."
