RECRUITING: Houston safety verbals to OU

Houston (Westbury) free safety chooses Oklahoma over Texas and Kansas State

JH: Have you made a decision?

"I just got off the phone with Coach Stoops about two hours ago and told him that I was committing to OU. I didn't commit to them when I was in Norman. I wanted to get home and talk everything over with my parents before I gave my word."

JH: What convinced you OU was the school for you?

"Everything. I liked the players, coaches and facilities. I really liked their locker room. I thought the players were completely different from what I thought they would be like. I thought they would be cocky, but instead they were great guys and a great deal of fun to be around."

JH: As far as a position goes, what did OU talk to you about?

"Coach Stoops said that he wanted me to play strong safety. He said if anybody could fill in for Roy Williams it would be me. If the situation develops that I have to play right away then I will be ready. If Roy comes back then it will be a great situation for me in that I will be able to learn from the best player in the country."

JH: Talk about your trip, who showed you around?

"My host was Will Peoples and Brandon Shelby. I was with my teammate Calvin Thibadeaux and Selvyn Young. We just hung out and age a lot. We went to the Outback Steakhouse and Coaches Restaurant."

JH: What is your teammate thinking?

"My teammate Thibadeaux is close to committing. He is at work right now, so I can't get a hold of him, but I know that he wants to."

JH: Are you through visiting?

"This is it for me, I am not going to Texas next week or to Kansas State later on."
