RECRUITING: Florida OL still interested in OU

Orlando, Fla. offensive lineman Matt Hardrick.

Matt Hardrick, OL, 6-5, 337, 5.5 ORLANDO, FLORIDA (EDGEWATER HS):

JH: Have you opened your season yet?

MH: "We are supposed to play this Friday against St. Thomas Sea Breeze, but they don't want to play us. They cancelled the game. It was a kickoff classic, and I guess they didn't feel it was in their best interest to play us. So, we are trying to find some other team to play us."

JH: How did your workouts go leading up to the start of camp?

MH: "They were good. Our two-a-days were usual type of practices. Right now I weigh 342. I am up about 10 pounds from last season. I want to lose some weight, and feel that I will as the season goes a long."

JH: How is recruiting going?

MH: "It is about the same with me. I am still considering Miami, Florida State, LSU and Oklahoma."

JH: You are considering two schools in Florida. Do you really want to leave the state?

MH: "Yes, I could leave the state, and I feel there is a good chance that I will leave the state. It is not that I just want to leave, but I do want to get out of this area and get out and see some now things."

JH: What are your thoughts on Oklahoma?

MH: "My thoughts are very good. And in fact, I plan on calling Coach (Kevin) Wilson tonight or tomorrow. It will probably be tomorrow since it is so late tonight. I like the coaching staff at Oklahoma and the tradition is outstanding."

JH: Do you have a leader at this point?

MH: "I would say that Florida State and LSU are my leaders right now. They have shown me the most interest. I think that I will visit all four schools."
