RECRUITING: North Carolina OL has four favorites

Did the Sooners make the cut for Fayetteville, N.C. offensive tackle Curtis Crouch?

Curtis Crouch, OL, 6-6, 315, 5.2, FAYETTVILLE (EE SMITH HS), NORTH CAROLINA:

JH: Have you played a game yet?

CC: "We had our first game last Friday and I sprained my ankle in the game. I don't think I will be able to play this Friday. We won the game 25-6. I played midway through the second quarter going both ways. I got hurt on defense when a teammate of mine fell on my ankle. I think I will be able to play in game three."

JH: How were you playing before you got hurt?

CC: "I was playing well. I was making my blocks on offense. Our running back got 237 yards in the game, so we must have been something right. On defense, I only went in for two series before I got hurt."

JH: How did your summer workouts go?

CC: "I improved my footwork and I reached my strength goals this summer. I benched 340 at the end of the summer."

JH: How is recruiting going for you?

CC: "Right now I have four teams that I like. I like Oklahoma, North Carolina State, Virginia Tech and Tennessee. I haven't set any visits up yet, but my coach is trying to set up a visit with Oklahoma sometime in September."

JH: What do you think about Oklahoma?

CC: "I know that Oklahoma is a top school and I know they are always close to a championship. That is the type of team that I want to be on, and that is a championship team. I don't know a lot about their college or the academic side of it. I know they graduate three of their offensive linemen and that is a big factor for me. I am sure they have some good backups, so it is not a main factor. But that wouldn't hurt my decision."

JH: Do you have a leader at the moment?

CC: "Not really. The only school that I have seen thus far is N.C. State, so I couldn't judge the other schools right now."
