CALVIN THIBODEAUX, DE, 6'1, 240, 4.78, HOUSTON WESTBURY, TEXAS:
Thibodeaux is one of the those players that the more you watch him the more he grows on you. A three-year starter, Thibodeaux wasn't a highly talked about athlete at the beginning of the year. However, as college coaches came in and saw him, the interest picked up.
"I have played linebacker, defensive end, defensive tackle, tight end and fullback. This past year I finished with 11 sacks, one interception, three fumble recoveries and I scored two touchdowns, one on either side of the ball."
His junior season, Thibodeaux finished with nine sacks and 68 tackles. Thibodeaux can bench 355 pounds and he throws the shot in track (57'0).
Thibodeaux had offers from Notre Dame, LSU and was seconds away from committing to Michigan, before giving the Sooners the good word.
"The difference between Oklahoma and Michigan was how I felt when I left the room after talking to coaches. I was shaky when I left the Michigan coaching room, but when I left the Oklahoma coaches office I had no doubt about how badly Oklahoma wanted me. I felt comfortable and wanted. Oklahoma was close to home, I was wanted by the coaching staff and I just liked everything."
"I went home and thought things over. I compared Michigan and LSU to Oklahoma and OU was just best place. It was close to home, they play a great brand of football and after watching their practice I just see myself fitting in at OU. I am not going to visit anywhere else and I am ready to play for Oklahoma. I only had one visit left anyway and that was to LSU. I have already been to Notre Dame and Michigan."
