RECRUITING: Miller checks out Austin

Killeen, Texas DT Roy Miller talks about his dominating first-game performance, his trip to Austin and just firm his commitment to Oklahoma is.

Roy Miller, DT, 6-2, 295, KILLEEN (SHOEMAKER HS), TEXAS:

JH: Are you coming to Norman for the Houston game this Saturday?

RM: "I am really trying to hard to make sure I can make it up there for the Houston game. I am trying to make sure I have a ride to the game, and I want to make sure my coaches are cool with me going. We always have some things going on Saturday morning, but they have never stopped me from going before, so I don't think they will now."

JH: How is your season going thus far?

RM: "We are 1-0 on the season. I finished with 10 tackles, three solos, two for a loss, four quarterback hurries, three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery that I took 43-yards for a touchdown. We won the game 33-0. I had such a good day because they never threw the ball. By the third quarter, we took the first string out, so I didn't get a chance to play the whole game."

JH: Are you still firmly committed to OU?

RM: "Yes sir."

JH: Are you still talking to the Texas coaches a great deal?

RM: "They call me all the time. I happen to live near Austin, so it is nothing to go to the game. I went to their game against North Texas just to go and I happened to talk to some Texas coaches. I am still very firm on my commitment to OU and I feel very solid in my decision. All that I am doing is making sure that I am making the right decision. I am just going to another campus to compare it to OU just to make sure the OU campus feels right to me. Plus, this is a good experience for all my friends to make these trips with me and to enjoy what I am enjoying."

JH: If you don't make it up for the Houston game what would be the next game for you to come up and watch?

RM: "I am pretty positive that I am going to go there, but you know that I am going to go to the Red River Shootout."
